Chipotle wants to increase their fast casual market share with their first spin off Shophouse. The concept is still fairly new in this thriving field but they can feel others nipping at their heels so they’ve decided to tempt their burrito fans into the asian bowl side. They are offering a BOGO (buy one get one FREE) to entice their regular Chipotle customers to try the SouthEast Asian inspired bowls. It’s a great idea to keep their customers in the family (so to speak) so that when regular customers want a different taste profile instead of trying competitors they just migrate over to Shophouse. Of course this might make a percentage make this their first choice but it’s unlikely. ShopHouse has a much more refined profile of ingredient choices (from protein to sauce to carb) that likely won’t appeal to everyone as easy as Americanized Mexican is something most Americans eat on a weekly basis.
ShopeHouse is more appealing to those who like a little food adventure. If you decide to try ShopHouse let me know if it’s part of the rotation or will be the new go to fast causal restaurant.
